The FASTER Act which mandated the labeling of sesame in foods was supposed to make life easier for those with allergies. Unfortunately, because companies have chosen to add sesame flour to their products instead of complying with the spirit of the law, the lives of those with sesame allergies have gotten harder.
In a recent survey of 130 people with sesame allergy, 69% of responders said their lives have significantly changed for the worse and 25% said their lives have somewhat changed for the worse since the FASTER Act was implemented.
According to a recent survey, companies are losing money each week and those with sesame allergy are paying more each week because of the addition of sesame to products.
